Luna In Order of the Phoenix

"She had straggly, waist length, dirty blonde hair, very pale eyebrows and protuberant eyes that gave her a permanently surprised look... The girl gave off an aura of distinct dottiness. Perhaps it was the fact that she had stuck her wand behind her left ear for safekeeping, or that she had chosen to wear a necklace of Butterbeer corks, or that she was reading a magazine upside-down." pg 168 OotP (UK Ed.)

- She reads The Quibbler, the magazine her father is the editor of.

- She prizes a sense of humour (and thinks Ron is hilarious).

- She doesn't like to dance.

- Believes Sirius Black is Stubby Boardman.

- Believes Fudge is trying to take over Gringott's, and has an army of Heliopaths.

- She didn't laugh when Harry called Draco a git (but did when Ron said Goyle has a face like a baboon's backside).

- She can turn your ears into kumquats.

- She thinks Pigwidgeon is 'a sweet little owl'.

- She can see Thestrals, because she saw her mother die.

- She doesn't think Hagrid is a good teacher.

"A few seconds later, Luna Lovegood emerged, trailing behind the rest of the class, a smudge of earth on her nose, and her hair tied in a knot on the top of her head. When she saw Harry, her prominent eyes seemed to bulge excitedly and she made a beeline straight for him. Many of his classmates turned curiously to watch. Luna took a great breath and then said, without so much as a preliminary hello, 'I believe He Who Must Not Be Named is back and I believe you fought him and escaped from him.'" pg 236, Ootp (UK Ed.)

- Wears orange radish earrings.

- Believes that Blibbering Humdingers, Crumple-Horned Snorkacks, Aquavirius Maggots, and Heliopaths exist.

- Wears a hat to show her support (a Gryffindor lion that was going to be chewing up a Slytherin serpent, and a Ravenclaw eagle).

- Calls Ron "Ronald".

- Harry usually tries to avoid her.

- She and Ginny were lookouts when Harry was trying to contact Sirius after the O.W.L.s

- Was a member of Dumbledore's Army.

- Was fascinated with the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and figured out that there are people on the other side of it (or "in there").

- She held her own at the Ministry. She blew up Pluto in a Death Eater's face, helped Ginny with her broken ankle, helped seal some doors, etc.

- Has to put up posters at the end of the year asking for all her posessions to be returned.

- Believes she'll see her mother again.

- She has a cocktail onion in her Gillywater.

- Has said that her father doesn't care about making money, and that people write for The Quibbler for free.

- Gave Harry a free copy of The Quibbler with his interview in it.

- Didn't freak out when she was captured by a member of the Inquisitorial Squad.

- She came up with the idea to use thestrals to fly to the Ministry on, and helped Ron, Hermione and Ginny get on their thestrals.

Luna In Half-Blood Prince

- Circulation of The Quibbler went up since Harry's interview

- She wore her Spectrespecs that she got out of The Quibbler, which according to Harry made her look like a demented multicoloured owl.

- She wanted the D.A. to continue, because "It was like having friends".

- She often says uncomfortable, honest things which makes Harry feel pity and embarassed for her.

- Harry told Romilda Vane that she (Luna) and Neville were friends of his while going to Hogwarts on the train.

- Harry thinks she's cool for going to the Ministry and fighting alongside him.

- She believes in Wrackspurts, which are apparently invisible, float into people's ears and make their brain go fuzzy.

- She wore her lion topped hat to the Gryffindor v.s. Slytherin match (the one Zacharias commentated)

- She heard wailing from inside a girl's bathroom, thought it was Moaning Myrtle, and went inside anyway. It turns out that it was Hermione upset about Ron doing a cruel impersonation of her. Harry found them walking out of the bathroom, Luna patting Hermione on the back to comfort her.

- She thinks Ron can be funny, but unkind as well. She's stopped calling him Ronald now.

- She was lonely without the D.A.

- Ginny stopped two boys in their Transfiguration class from calling her "Loony" - Note that in OotP, Ginny herself called Luna "Loony Lovegood" when she spotted her on the train to Hogwarts.

- Harry asked Luna to go with him to Slughorn's party as a friend... he wanted to ask Ginny, but she was still dating Dean at the time.

- No one had ever asked Luna to go to a party with them as a friend before.

- She was willing to dye her eyebrow yellow to match Harry's for the party.

- Peeves overheard Harry asking Luna to Slughorn's party, and spread the word around the school quite quickly.

- "'You could've taken anyone!' said Ron in disbelief over dinner. 'Anyone! And you chose Loony Lovegood?'

'Don't call her that, Ron,' snapped Ginny" pg 292, HBP (UK Ed.)

- She wore spangled silver dress robes to Slughorn's party, but didn't wear any of her usual jewellery. Harry thought that she looked "quite nice" other than her robes.

- She thinks Rufus Scrimgeour is a vampire, and said that her dad was going to print an article on that wen he first came into power as Minister of Magic, but the Ministry forced him not to publish it. Incidentally, there was a vampire at the party, called Sanguini who was the guest of Eldred Worple who had written a book on living with vampires.

- Luna takes Transfiguration, this year from Firenze. Trelawney recalls not seeing her in her class... Luna kept talking to Trelawney as Harry talked to Hermione before she (Hermione) ran off to escape McLaggen again.

- She believes in the Rontfang conspiracy, which consists of Aurors attempting to take down the Ministry by a combination of Dark magic and gum disease. Subsequently, she thinks Harry shouldn't become an Auror. Professor Trelawney seemed interested in the Rontfang Conspiracy, and the two continued to talk about it when Harry left the party to follow Draco.

- She must have talked to Professor Flitwick (her Head of House) about commentating at one point, because while Ron is in the Hospital Wing from poisoning, she does the comentary for the Gryffindor v.s. Hufflepuff match and he listens.

- She mentions the possibility of Zacharias Smith suffering from "Loser's Lurgy".

- She delivers a message to Harry from Dumbledore about another meeting in his office, but doesn't appear to realise what it was during or after the fact.

- Still checking the D.A. galleon, she sees the message that they need her help the night that Harry and Dumbledore went to get the locket horcrux. She and Neville, the only two people who still checked it rush to their aid and apparently all of them have a little Felix Felicis.

- - More to come.
